M.Sc. – Microbiology

Microbiology deals with Microorganisms. Microbiology is one of the developing and advance technical branch of biology. It is an interesting two years degree course. It nurtures the interest of students in the subject. We have well sophisticated laboratory facilities where learning becomes interesting and easy. We provide industrial training, educational tour, workshop, seminar to our students. We educate them professionally and also believe to develop their personality, skills and knowledge. In last academic year our institute have recorded 100% result in Microbiology.
A Microbiologist can give their services in food, dairy industries, various pharmaceutical industries, pathology, fermentation industries and educational field. M.Sc students explore the world of microbes. the students at SUKM are made practically skilled and theoretically sound to stand apart from the crowd as winners.

M.Sc. – Zoology

The post graduate degree in zoology shapes students through upgraded course, well equipped laboratory and field work, as well as the instructors whom they encounter with during study in college. These experiences help to shape their goals as a zoologist .Scope in Zoology is very elaborated, if students prefer to study more in details than they can go for Ph.D course, with this they have lot of scopes in research field in Government & Private sector.

Program Goals - Career options after M.Sc in Zoology.

-Biological Laboratory Technician
- Conservationist.
- Environmental Consultant.
- Herpetologist.
- Veterinary Technologist
- Wildlife Educator.
- Wildlife Rehabilitator Zoologist

M.Sc. – Chemistry

M.Sc. in chemistry is a post graduate academic degree course. This course teaches about core in chosen discipline of chemistry. The minimum time required to complete the degree is two years which includes four semesters. M.Sc. Chemistry curriculum includes theory, practical papers and job oriented projects. Students who have completed their graduation in related fields can join this course.

Program Goal

- Candidates with Master’s degree in chemistry can further go for PhD to join research or get jobs as Lecturer or assistant professor with top universities or colleges if they qualify in the NET exam.
- Candidates who have completed Master’s degree in chemistry can enter into pharmaceutical industries, Agrochemical Industries, Textile Industries, Petrochemical industries, Plastics industries, government chemical industries etc.
- Candidates can also find numerous jobs as Analytical Chemist, Lab Chemist, Research and Development Director, Production Chemist etc both in public and private sector organizations.

M.sc. – Computer Science

M.Sc (Computer Science) has been designed to teach the mathematical principles of specification, design and efficient implementation of both software and hardware.

Program Goals

- To provide the foundation for a professional career in the computing-based industries, including telecommunications, process control, business, mission, and safety-critical fields.
- To enhance the skills of a professional who is already working in one of these industries.
- To provide a foundation for research into the theory and practice of programming and the design of computer-based systems.
- To present knowledge, experience, reasoning methods and design and implementation techniques that are robust and forward-looking.

The Department of Computer Science is committed to the development and application of effective theory based on realistic practice, and some of the modules were developed through consultation and collaboration with industry. The department believes that only by the interplay of theory and practice can you be trained properly in such a rapidly advancing subject. Practice alerts us to deal contemporary problems and theory is a shield against professional obsolescence.
The programme is different to IT programmes, in that it is a technical degree with a significant programming component. It is designed to give you grounding in both the fundamentals of computer science and practical software development skills, and a choice of in-depth subjects as optional modules. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply, but a certain amount of background in mathematics and scientific subjects, for example at ‘advanced’ high school level, would facilitate mastering the new Computer Science subjects.
You will develop knowledge and understanding of a formal disciplined approach to computer science, a range of relevant concepts, tools and techniques, the principles underpinning these techniques and the ability to apply them in novel situations. On subsequent employment, you will be able to select techniques most appropriate to your working environment, adapt and improve them as necessary, establish appropriate design standards for hardware and software, train colleagues and subordinates in the observance of sound practices, and keep abreast of research and development.
